The end of the year is here and that means brands, teams, schools and other organizations are gearing up for a well deserved break, looking back at an exciting, jam-packed year, and sharing their final projects and campaigns of 2019.

It also means that the holidays are here, and creative teams are jumping on the opportunity to fill our social media feeds with fun and festive visual content. We love seeing what you come up with – it really is the most wonderful time of the year!

Check out some of the best content we found on social media from the holiday hustle and the end of 2019, and share your favorites with us @getlibris!

Content for Santa

Everyone loves holiday content – albeit, in moderation – and this year, creative teams and marketing experts are stepping their game up to break through the noise on social media. Here’s some of our favorite examples of brands sharing the holiday cheer and Christmas spirit on Twitter and Instagram.

OREO

Nothing brings us holiday cheer quite like cookies. According to OREO, this year Santa is asking for one cookie, and one cookie only. #OREOforSanta is an incredible campaign that OREO is running across their social media channels. With hilarious visual content, cheery messaging and delicious holiday flavors, this campaign definitely has us excited about the timely treat.

Postmates

On-demand delivery service Postmates is granting some holiday wishes this year, calling on their customers and followers to use their hashtag #BetterThanSanta.

Hard to believe that someone can deliver gifts better than the jolly bearded man himself, but for a select few of the hopefuls who tweet at Postmates, some holiday wishes are coming true!

Netflix

Netflix knows a thing or two about holiday specials, and when Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas is You” finally reached No. 1 on the Billboard charts, they jumped on the opportunity to take a look back at her festive concert.

Who doesn’t feel a smile in their heart when they hear Mariah belting it out at this time of year?

Chick-Fil-A

This year for the holidays, Chick-Fil-A is sharing a heartwarming campaign about spending time with family, complete with a short, beautiful animated movie and even a pop-up Time Shop where children can join in on a fun, fantastical experience.

We love campaigns that combine stunning visual content with real life experiences. Tying it all together with an uplifting message, especially at this time of year, sounds like a win-win-win situation! Kudos to you, Chick-Fil-A for time well spent.

University of Virginia

Looking for cozy content? Replace your average Yule log video with this one from the University of Virginia’s Outdoors Club.

We love their ironic spin on an outdoor bonfire and the warm, comforting campfire vibes they provide with this quality content. It’s like we’re right there with them, ready for s’mores and a cup of hot chocolate.

It’s full of inside jokes for Wahoos, and it’s great inspiration for any school looking to do something a little different for their community. Thanks to UVA for sharing the content we didn’t know we needed until now!

Coca-Cola

In the past, Coca-Cola has gifted us with great holiday content, complete with polar bears and Santa sharing bottles of Coke with friends.

Coke’s content marketing has become synonymous with sharing, giving and positivity. This year is no exception, as fun and festive visuals ring in the holidays on their social media feeds.

Who are you most excited to visit this holiday season?

Beyond social media, they showed up in a big way on The Ellen Show to support The Ellen Fund, donating $250,000 to aid in their global conservation efforts for endangered species (like Polar Bears!!).

San Jose Sharks

What’s more heartwarming than a Canine Companions assistance pup in training? Throw on some Christmas lights and you’ve reached a whole new level of cuteness.

The San Jose Sharks are raising this puppy and future assistance dog, Finn, and the content coming from their time together is warm and fuzzy in every way.

You can bet that we’ll be following along for the remainder of this Christmas countdown and to see Finn grow!

Year in Review

The internet may be oversaturated with end of year wrap-ups and reviews, but a handful of brands and marketing teams are getting creative and sharing some seriously awesome collections of content to round out the year.

Spotify

The #SpotifyWrapped campaign is a fan favorite and viral sensation every year, and in 2019 they stepped up their game to end the decade. The campaign is incredibly designed – and sometimes surprising (have I really been listening to that much Taylor Swift this year?). It’s highly personal and irresistibly shareable, making waves on social media for weeks. For those of you who aren’t in on the fun… what are you waiting for? Head to Spotify for an incredibly detailed and curated collection of your listening habits from this past year.

The campaign is even inspiring other brands to get in on the action, adding memes and relevant content to the mix, keeping the trending hashtag #SpotifyWrapped alive.

Minnesota United FC even used the campaign as inspiration for announcing their 2020 season!

Google

This inspirational video from Google brings us on a rollercoaster of emotions as it runs through the top searches for “heroes” in 2019.

Not only did this video inspire us and bring us to tears, but it masterfully brought together a great collection of visual content and special moments from 2019. Video editing at its best! Cheers to the creative team behind the scenes for this one.

YouTube Rewind

YouTube Rewind has been a hot topic for years now, highlighting the most memorable moments, top trends and most popular YouTubers on the platform as the year comes to a close.

Last year’s recap video did not go over so well (2018’s YouTube Rewind quickly became the most disliked video in YouTube history). This year, when the time came to release their new video, they took last year’s reaction to heart and created a new montage for the YouTube community to enjoy.

When this look back at the hottest trends, creators, music videos and more in 2019 resulted in its own criticism, YouTube joined in on the joke…

Your Turn!

When looking back on your 2019, what creative content comes to mind? We know your team has been working hard on the next best marketing campaign, and pumping out festive holiday content, too.

Who’d we miss? What’s your favorite content marketing campaign you’ve seen so far this holiday season? Who’s your top artist from your #SpotifyWrapped? Let us know by tweeting at us @getlibris!

Enjoy your holiday and we’ll see you in 2020!
